David Jacques-Louis

David Jacques-Louis was born of a merchant family in Paris August 30 1748.David decided a career as an artist. David a young painter using both his uncle, his aunt Marie-Josephe, and his cousin as a model. In the 1766-1774 David studied at the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture, at the Vein's class. David often win the race in a painting competition. He spent 5 years in Italy (1775-1780) to study art. in 1780 returned to Paris, the history and mythology of Ancient became the theme of his paintings. David is a member of the Committee of Public Safety and artistic director of the National Fete, founded in the classical style. The work of Jacques-Louis David's most notable in 1790 was The Intervention of the Sabine Women.

In 1797 he met Napoleon and was told to do portraits, but Jacques-Louis David is not able to finish his painting. Then
David Jacques-Louis created many paintings devoted to the new hero and his brothers: Bonaparte Crossing the St. Bernard Pass (1800), Napoleon in His Study (1812), Emperor Napoleon I and Coronation of Empress Josephine (1808). 1816, Jacques-Louis David to Brussels, he spent the last 10 years. During this period, Jacques-Louis David returned to the subject of mythology and intimate portrait. David died on December 29, 1825 and was buried in the cemetery of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Brussels.Pengaruh Jacques-Louis David is very high.
